The Big Drop

The Big Drop

Given up on your dreams of becoming a rock legend?

Resigned yourself to the fact that you’re never going to win Sports Personality of the Year?

Or have you simply moved on to the next big thing leaving all that music and sports equipment you bought at the back of the cupboard?

Well we can give all that lovely, shiny, hardly used equipment a new life!

After all, one person’s trash is another’s treasure…
The Bg Drop

We want you to drop your no longer used and unwanted music and sports kit off with us so we can give it a new home with groups and organisations in the area that will put it to good use.

It’s a win-win for everyone; our partner organisations get free equipment, you free up valuable space and our environment does not have to deal with the disposal of the unwanted equipment or suffer the effects of manufacturing them from new.

Drop your equipment off at our reception from where it will be collected and then redistributed. Special collections will be arranged for large or heavy items.

By doing this you can…

Do your bit for the environment… Donating your no longer wanted musical or sports equipment to The Big Drop will not only put it to good use but it will help reduce waste, helping us to work towards a Greener Scotland and reducing the need to manufacture new equipment will help keep CO2 emissions to a minimum. Get more information about how to Go Greener here.

…and your community. Organisations and groups all over the country will benefit from receiving your unwanted equipment. One of the biggest expenses of any group is the purchase of equipment, new or used. By donating you will be supporting groups in your area, giving them the chance to focus on providing services to those that need it most rather than worrying about how to raise funds to buy the equipment they need.

What can you donate?

We are looking for any unwanted musical equipment, from recorders to electric guitars and drum kits and sports equipment from tennis rackets to dumb bells - if you don’t want it we’ll find a home for it.

Our partner organisations can also help with any other items you may have and want to find a good home for- simply follow the link below and speak to them directly if you would like to arrange this.

What to do next…

If what you want to donate is small enough to carry, bring it along to our reception any time between 10 am and 4 pm Monday to Friday.

If you can’t manage it yourself, give us a call on the number below and speak to our contact and we will arrange a special up-lift from your home.

What will we do with it?

Our partner, the Community Recycling Network Scotland (CRNS), represents the community recycling sector in Scotland. It works to recycle and reuse a vast range of products and materials, creating real social, environmental and economic benefits for local communities.

They will co-ordinate with local organisations and charities to ensure that each and every piece of equipment that we collect is put to good use. For full details of the organisations we will be working with click on the link for your area below.
